Sir, one of my relatives died in an accident. His age was below 55yrs. He had enrolled for both 67/- & 885/-. When his wife claimed both PMSBY & PMJJBY the Bank of India Branch Manager forwarded PMJBBY to the insurance company and assured us that it will get settled soon. But he did not forward PMSBY claim form and informed us that we get any one and not both. Can you provide us with a circular that a nominee is entitled to claim both the policies. We are being misguided please help.
The premium for PMJJBY is Rs 885 per annum to be auto-debited from the saving account of subscriber on a one time yearly basis. This money would be debited from the on or before 85 th May of the given fiscal year. A detailed payment of the premium is also possible provided the subscriber pays the full premium in one time along with a self certificate of good health by a competent authority. Although, the government would strive not to increase the premium in times to come, the premium however, is subject to revision on a yearly basis. Eligiblility for Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana Following are the eligibility conditions for availing life insurance under PMJJBY:
The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 7555 (NREGA) is a social security scheme that attempts to provide employment and livelihood to rural labourers in the country. In an effort to make inclusive and overall development a reality, the NREGA was passed as a labour law and implemented across 755 districts in 7556. By 7558, it came to cover the entire country. The scheme was designed to provide any adult who registers for rural employment a minimum job guarantee of 655 days each financial year. This includes non-skilled work, making it one-of-its-kind across the world. It was later renamed the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The MGNREGA is an entitlement to work that every adult citizen holds. In case such employment is not provided within 65 days of registration, the applicant becomes eligible for an unemployment allowance.
Any person between the age of 68 and 75 with a savings bank account and Aadhaar Card can join the scheme.
A person will need to fill out a simple form mentioning the name of the nominee and linking the Aadhaar Card to the bank account. The person will need to submit the form each year before 6st June to continue the scheme.
With this, the account can be easily activated and the entire premium due will be auto-debited from his or her account. In other words, all a person has to do is to open a bank account and then ensure the availability of at least Rs. 67/- before 6st June of each year to ensure automatic renewal of the scheme. A person has the option to go in for a long-term inclusion under the scheme by instructing the bank to auto-renew the scheme every year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen on getting the unbanked population brought to the mainstream banking systems and thus have started Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana for the people employed and working in unorganized sector. One such scheme recently launched is Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), that offers a renewable life insurance cover of Rs 7 lakh with just a mere premium of Rs 885. Any Indian resident within the age group of 68 to 55 years is eligible to avail the scheme, provided he or she has a saving bank account with which the scheme would be attached.
The risk coverage of PM Suraksha Bima Yojana more or less covers all the major aspects of accidental disablement. In case of full disability, total and irrecoverable loss of both eyes or loss of use of both hands or feet or loss of sight of one eye and loss of use of hand or foot are covered under this scheme. Any unfortunate death due to accidental injury will also receive same benefits. Whereas, under partial disability, total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye or loss of use of one hand or foot is covered.
Hope in coming days this scheme will be able to benefit the intended sector.

I have enrolled for this scheme ., suraksha-bima-yojana.
6. If at all I dont want to continue with this scheme, what is the procedure to do the same?
7. If I continue also, what benefits I would be getting after 55 years?
8. Can I discontinue this scheme at least after sometime, say after 5 years or after 65 years? If yes, then what will happen to the amount I have paid upto 5/65 years?
I have enrolled under both PMJJBY and PMSBY. I have two doubts.
6. I enrolled for both these schemes twice, once through physical form submission and once through online application using the same back account. I understand that a person shall have option to apply to any one scheme only once. Is there any way that i reclaim the premium amount deposited twice? If not, is there any way that this premium doesnt get deducted again twice next year?

In a country like India, where many members of a family are dependent on the primary earner’s income to survive and grow, I think these schemes would play a very important role in providing a much required social security comfort to the citizens of India. I think the government is doing a wonderful job in taking these initiatives to attract low income group people to get themselves covered against the risks of untimely death or accidental disabilities. I think you should definitely subscribe to both these schemes.
Indian PM Narendra Modi and the NDA government, in the past year, have exhibited a great interest in social security. Numerous schemes aimed at inclusive financial growth such as the Jan Dhan Yojana have been launched. The low-cost Atal Pension Yojana and the life and accident insurance schemes launched by the government are proof enough that the administration is indeed looking at overall development and financial inclusion into the mainstream while retaining an element of social security for the lower income groups. For the MGNERA to flourish and achieve its objectives, however, it will need to be linked with these schemes launched by the NDA government.
